VISION AND MISSION

Vision, Mission and Strategy

It is an unfortunate reality that the private security and investigation industry is littered with unscrupulous operators who prey on the vulnerable, fly-by-nights who promise the world yet deliver nothing, and incompetents that (no matter how well-intentioned) bungle matters, worsen situations and endanger others. This reality has bred a sense of public distrust that has made the business of being an investigator more challenging for professional, reputable operators. At the same time, though, it has enabled Intertel, and others like Intertel that strive for excellence, to stand out from the crowd.

A Changing Vision

In 1992, Intertel’s vision statement was simply “To be the best investigation company in South Africa”. Our vision was amended in 2001 to reflect our successes in the first decade of business: “To maintain our position as South Africa’s leading investigation, forensics and intelligence services company, to strengthen that lead and to be a global player”.

Duty, Purpose and Mission

Our mission is simple: to deliver what we promise and to do more than expected. Our first duty in anything we do is to protect our clients, their rights and their interests, and to safeguard the people and things they value most in life. Although our objectives and focus differs from case to case, our core purpose is generally the same: to uncover the truth, gather facts, provide options and execute actions that enable our clients to:

  •  solve problems, overcome challenges and avoid obstacles
  •  answer questions, clarify uncertainties and address concerns
  •  understand situations, developments, players and forces
  •  drive change, influence outcomes and achieve goals

A Winning Strategy

We have always been driven to be better than our competitors, but have never made our competitors the primary focus of our efforts. Our strategy from the outset was to assemble and grow a dynamic team of individual thinkers and problem-solvers that each possess unique expertise but all share a common vision. We encourage team members to focus on what they do best of the things they enjoy doing most. This has enabled us to remain agile, relevant, responsive, prepared, resourceful and energetic. Much effort is made to foster, in every Intertel team member, from the get-go, a self-motivated and passionate desire to strive for excellence in their chosen field and to continuously seek out new challenges and opportunities to learn, to innovate, to invent, to get involved, to collaborate, to teach and to share.
